Patrick - Senior Meetings & Events Co-ordinator
13 years ago, I was running my own pub and my experience was transferrable when I joined the meeting & events team. I was promoted to Coordinator, then Senior Coordinator. My biggest achievement is that I have grown and gained confidence in what I am doing. When I first started, I made mistakes, but I learnt from them. My Managers are supportive and taught me lots of things enabling me to grow. When new people join The Belfry, I give them the benefits of my experience here. I teach them the right things to do and the best way to do it and I am always open for advice. My favourite thing about working at the Belfry are the working hours, service charge and I love the place and the people. Even when I go on holiday and people ask me where I work, they know how prestigious the hotel is. My advice to anyone joining The Belfry is come and work hard, be open to learn and have a positive mindset. The work can be challenging, but if you put your mind to it you will succeed. Some of the best benefits I use are overnight stays, F&B discounts, and I took my son to golf lessons who got taught by professional golfers. I am proud to work for a well-known and prestigious place.

Erin - Senior Meeting & Events Coordinator
My journey at The Belfry began at 16, initially in M&E, working weekends during college. I secured a contract at 18 and progressed from junior to senior coordinator with three promotions since 2013. Support from various M&E managers has been crucial. During my time here, The Belfry's significant changes include a more supportive people department with enhanced culture, development programs, and apprenticeships. Actively involved in team training, I find it rewarding to witness the growth and increased confidence of younger team members, reflecting on my own early start. Personal growth has been my biggest achievement, evolving from shyness to confidently handling conversations and management interactions. I've been pushed out of my comfort zone and managing large events has become second nature.
