  Matt - Safety, Security & Compliance Manager

  I joined The Belfry in 2004 as cleaner before moving across to linen, cellars and CDP where we manage every single delivery into the hotel. I then transferred into security in 2008. After spending 10 years in the security department working my way up to Head of Department, I then additionally took all responsibility for Health & Safety across the resort in 2021. I have been lucky to have been supported with my career in building my confidence, have empowered and trusted me, always driving me to do my best. I like to lead my own team by being open and honest with my own experience - there are not many scenarios I have not been in myself. My advice to anyone joining The Belfry is don’t be afraid to make mistakes, be confident and commit to your ideas as The Belfry is an amazing place with lots of opportunities and it can be a launch path to grow your career.

  Darren - Security

  I joined the Belfry 3 years ago as a Security Supervisor and from there I progressed to Senior Security Supervisor and then eventually into my current position of Assistant Manager of the security team. My manager was a huge support in my development and achieving my promotions in short space of time. I enjoy that our team is decided to work hard and provide a high level of commitment and service to the resort, especially in an environment where no two days are ever the same. The Belfry is an exciting venue and you get out what you put in by embracing the Belfry ethos. I feel lucky to have such a bond with my fellow co-workers and truly believe that we are one big family who look out for one another; the Belfry value I connect with most is ‘Better Together’ as by working closely together with other departments we make an unbeatable team.
